Artfelt Thanks

.
Something wonderful happens when many people gather for a specific purpose- energy, camaraderie and just plain fun fills the air. It has been quite the ride this week watching The Village prepare for the art show while my staff moved the store completely around, and then Friday seeing our chosen artists arrive to set up their space and display it with the items they have been working on so diligently. Each and everyone of them uniquely different. See more of their designs:

Greg Johnson:

Tag Team Tompkins, Diane and Madeline Tompkins:
Van Dusen Clockworks, Jon and Lisa Van Dusen:

Michelle Spaw:

Moonfly Pottery, Mary K. Porter:
Brenda Kilgore:
Renee Garvey Jewelry:
Delsie Chambon:
Although this event business wears us all down, there is nothing like seeing all of our great customers over a few short days and others we haven't seen forever. Each artist also sent out postcards so we are making a lot of new friends too. We are always surprised (but grateful) people are discovering us for the first time.

The traffic has been constant despite the 85 degree weather and each night we must close the doors long before the crowds die down or we would never make it in the next day to do it all over again. Art has sold, antiques, a sofa, chairs, seashells, tables, soap and lotions and jewelry, jewelry, jewelry. Take a look at some of the outdoor artists and maybe you can save the date for next year as we will surely do it again...

And finally, Pearl was spent after so many people in and out of the store and long, 12 hour days.

Deb, I know you don't do mail order, so I was hoping you might be able to provide contact information for Moonfly Pottery by Mary K. Porter. I am very interested in her pieces, but have been unable to find information about her on the web. If I were anywhere near Idaho, going to your shop would be on my weekly "To-Do" list. Love it!

Michelle,
We DO ship if your order is $100 or more. I have some of the Moonfly items in my store and can certainly get you any other pieces you see. Email me directly.

Hi Deb,
I adore your post and I am a huge fan of your decorating and the styling of your store.I read a few back posts and found that your decorating taste and home style seemed to be changing into a 'clean' uncluttered look of whites, grays, stone, creams etc.Would you please spend some time on your blog talking about how to achieve and maintain this clean , uncluttered minimal look , while still being able to shop and purchase our treasures. I love everything you do , but I've found myself putting a hault on shopping until I can figure out a new style direction. Would you consider doing a few videos like Tracy Porters Blog? We Would LOVE to see more of your shop, you, the new merchandise available to purchase, and alos to learn some new decorating tips.

I'll write about my new look at home if I ever get it done but a video is not very likely! I've pretty much got my hands full. But thanks for giving me the idea...

Oh Deb, the art show looked fantastic! Wish i could have made it. I love the jewelry. I'm going to make it up one of these days. I live in Springfield, Mo, and do make it to KC occasionally. I wish I had known of you before. Oh well, something to look forward to.
