Trend Spotting

It's always fun to leave your surroundings and notice something new. While antique shopping in Texas I couldn't help but notice tons of items among the thousands of dealers- but one style kept catching my eye. A mirage of cubbies, drawers and files; stacked, lined up and piled. Whether wood, metal, glass or even plastic there is something about the power of numbers. One slot is good but more is better. Every item I shot here I think of as a work of art all on its own. Filling each compartment with stuff is always desired, but leaving these pieces alone make for interesting conversation too. Perfect for the crafter of course, but imagine these used for tools, wine bottles, tea cups- or as I prefer, left alone.
Enjoy.

I hope you don't lose any sleep over anonymous nut...because you are blessed with so much talent and you are also blessed with many, many friends and many fans of your blog! Jenny Danna

Thanks Jenny for that.

Yes, of course, I am thinking of nothing else but one horrible comment. To spend so much time agonizing over keeping my business fresh and then to get one negative (always anonymous) comment over the outcome. How horrible for me to always remember a negative over the 24 bravos I received. Shame on me. Thanks again.

Just feel sorry for those anonymous ones, they are the ones who loose in the end. Seriously. They must have such sad lives! It was so nice to meet you again and darn, we missed a great cubby in our own venue and I kind of wish I'd bought it!

You are right about this trend and actually had bought a cute cubby cabinet for the show but it sold right out of my truck before I had even left Canton last month. So enjoyed getting to see and visit with you and Carol. Hope you found lots of stuff, I'm sure you did with your great eye! Happy Easter, T

Debbie, my dear,
Your reference to a negative comment made me go back and hunt for it, just to read what someone could possibly say that would be disparaging. All I can say is that if someone is thinking Pottery Barn and Pier One, they don't have a very large frame of reference. Never think you can fill the needs of someone who sees everything as a mass retailer customer. You're so far away from those stores....you've changed the way I look at EVERYTHING!!!

True art and creativity cannot be stifled....nor can you! Do not let the naysayers rent space in your head.
