The pictures above were sent to me today by my friend in Toronto. It was just what I needed to turn my creative switch back on again. I DIED! How fabulous is this? Anyone out there know what restaurant or bar it came from? I did a mad search but nothing came up. I take that back, the picture below came up and it just shows you there is a good way to do something and a not-so-good way. A great lesson in what makes good design.
Note: we found the source for the top pictures: Macs Brewerey Pub in Auckland, New Zealand.

Wow... that first pic makes a statement... I love it...
What a neat idea!
It gives a new meaning to "Follow the light", doesn't it? Very charming.
I want to eat there. If they pay that much attention to the decor and the subtle touches of texture the food is probably amazing. Can you imagine how yummy the cocktails are?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!!!!!!!
Love a lampshade...really adds something special from top to bottom! Debbie...so excited for you and hoping you are getting some catch up time on rest and relaxing! I have a quick question for you- what kind of camera do you have or recommend for pictures? I can't take a picture for the life of me and love your photos! I know there is a lot more to it than just a camera, but if you can let me know what to look for...I would so appreciate it! Thanks! Whitney (your biggest fan in Oregon)
I love it!! What a great yet simple idea.
I love this! Lamps hanging upside down. You have to have very high ceilings to do this.
cool picture - thinking outside the box!
Debbie...the top picture has lamps mounted to the ceiling..and the bottom is just shades and just lame!
Good luck in this new chapter of your life!!

Looking forward to seeing stuff like this from you.
Speaking of lampshades, did you have a pic of an alphabet burlap shade on your site? I saw it somewhere and am going crazy trying to figure out where I saw it!
Not on my blog but check Ballard Designs and Pottery Barn for handwriting shades.
Oh My Gosh Love it
I want to have a party
What a clever idea! It certainly is an attention getter.
Amazing! What a nice idea! I think this could be a lovely thing to do even in a small room with a single lamp. I spotted the lamp to the right in the first picture, that could be a nice roof lamp to my sons bedroom. Thanks for sharing /Therese
What an unusual picture. Love your blog.
I have to say that lamps hung upside down from the ceiling is a novel idea. Did they do that because Aukland, New Zealand is in the southern hemisphere and always appears to be at the bottom on the earth? LOL!! Just askin'!
