I come home at least 3 times a year and yes, your shop is always on the list to do. I knew of antique areas when I was young, but having a resource like you're planning would be awesome. I never have a lot of time when I come and would love to know exactly where to head. It's me, Tricia, your Arizona friend, shopper. I live in AZ but visit KC every 2-3 months and I always make it to your store. Even if I don't get to buy anything everytime I come, it is always a visual treat to see what you and the gals have come up with. I LOVED your flea market sale, and Fall-Halloween is my favorite time to be in KC. I have found some great places in my explorations of your great city. I look forward to seeing what other places you share with us. Thanks for all your insight, Debbie.

Tricia in AZZinnia's on Melrosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10771945596067632333noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-24319236813893861292008-08-01T21:02:00.000-06:002008-08-01T21:02:00.000-06:00KC is my home town. I've been wishing to visit ever since! And, especially after this post. Thanks for doing this publicity post about your city! I look forward to learning more...and hopefully visiting someday. Maybe not as soon as I'd like, but someday in the future!

Every time I see a photo of you, I think how great your hair always looks! I'm in Raleigh, NC but am always ready to head West for some treasure hunting! Off to South of France for the month of Oct. so can't make the Halloween shopping X-travaganza, but perhaps after that.

Thanks for tweaking our inner design hearts - am so anxious to visit your shop.......and love anything grey!!Maryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02147410299194282171noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-36454412196631141962008-07-24T14:12:00.000-06:002008-07-24T14:12:00.000-06:00I had the pleasure of traveling to Kansas City, MO...I had the pleasure of traveling to Kansas City, MO last weekend to see my daughter. Top on my list was to find Curious Sofa! Now mind you, I missed the July Brimfield Antique Fair to come to Kansas City, so my expectations were pretty high! I simply adored your shop and would miss Brimfield again in a heartbeat! Your staff is amazing, the shop is adorable and I hated to leave. It was a pleasure visiting your shop, buying treasures for myself, treats for friends and some sweet thank you gifts for my daughter (who was appearing with Crossroads Ballet at UMKC ). I look forward to coming to the shop in the coming months now that my daughter has settled in KCMO!
Regards, DonnaAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-3599124902429047462008-07-24T09:22:00.000-06:002008-07-24T09:22:00.000-06:00debbi,love your post about our beautiful city! i'...debbi,
love your post about our beautiful city! i'm so proud to live in KC and have just promised myself to 'vacation' in my own city now and then. we do have so many great little haunts! i know that you are an extremely busy girl....but you should add 'tour guide deb' to your resume and host a weekend tour of our great city. proceeds could go to one of your favorite charities. i'd love to collaborate/help you with this if you venture in that direction.
fondly,
kathikathi @ traybellahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06420463108106037087noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-57019640719726937782008-07-24T06:09:00.000-06:002008-07-24T06:09:00.000-06:00Wonderful idea about the web page maps. It's true, once you get to the destination, where do I go from here???

Back in the day, my daughter went to taxidermy school in KC and everyone told us to stay away from the city, too dangerous, that was just 10 years ago. But the skyline was beautiful, should've explored more.

People really don't have a clue how beautiful the Heartland is. Here in Iowa there are treasures galore, but you need a guide to really open your eyes to the hidden beauty.

sharonA Wild Thinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11083369862963892366noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-11507752412487979152008-07-23T20:20:00.000-06:002008-07-23T20:20:00.000-06:00I've said before, sounds like a road trip to me. I'd love to take "The Farmer's Wife" on the road and visit some of my favorite spots - Kelli's farm in Iowa, your shop in Kansas City, Ellsworth, Wisconsin - the Cheese Curd Capital of the World. You know......all the hottest hot spots.

Now Cathy has mentioned War Eagle in Arkansas...what the heck is that? I'm off to Google to find out because we have property in Arkansas. I should know these things. HA.

Keep up the great work. I'll be sure to contact you if I get my road trip organized.

- Suzanne, the Farmer's WifeSuzannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06475380451527801666noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28631804.post-45766822694282887482008-07-23T15:52:00.000-06:002008-07-23T15:52:00.000-06:00Thank You! KC is my home...born at the old Menorah hospital back in 1948, lived on the East Side until 1966 and haven't lived in KC since, but it is always and forever HOME to me! I am even a Royals fan. Here in NC, we have a great life, but you make me want to move back right now!!! I would love to live on Ward Parkway somewhere, love those homes....My folks re-located back almost 3 years ago after living elseware since 1966 and they are so glad to be home too. They live in Raytown. I am coming in October for War Eagle in Arkansas, but hope to hit your shop and the new Nell Hills and maybe some other stops if your "guide" is available on the web site! thanks for the great photos too. KC really is the heart of America!
CathyPaul and Cathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16076530093106157959noreply@blogger.com
