Ha! It never occurred to me this was dressing for the depression. It's just fabulous that's all. But yes, I guess the ode to the Grapes of Wrath is fitting. Style can be found anywhere!
thanks for the link...my language also...years ago, I came home from college dressed in overalls and a double-breasted army coat from the salvation army...my mother was not amused...but that's my style..thanks for the heads up..
Yes, exactly, Annie Hall meets John Steinbeck meets the Untouchables. Love the theme he has going and the hats. Now, if I was only 5'11 and 30 years younger I might be able to carry it off. I do have to say, I love these and would wear this, where other years and designers have left me cold. Debra
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Fabulous RL as expected. The clothes look like they are made from antique French fabrics! Now this is my style! Thanks again for posting this. Angie
That was great fun to watch! Made me also wish I was tall and skinny. There were definitely some possibilities. Weren't the gold, sparkly shoes fabulous? Very fun, although I probably won't go for the seriously tattered jean look. Loved it.
Thank you a million! I've always worn my jeans that way, and besides the need to buy a soft cotton summer shift, I have to have that audio music while wearing the new doos'...it's there on the fringe of my mind, the style!!!!!
For nearly 20 years, Debbie worked as a well respected photo stylist, hired by national and local photographers and directors for TV, film and photography. With a life-long passion for interior styling and antiquing, she eventually left that industry to open her first retail venture, Curious Sofa in 2000.
Debbie's eye for assembling a store with the unusual and her unorthodox way of display established Curious Sofa among the top small retailers in the U.S. Customers from across the country made their way to the store to attend seasonal events and see the latest in her distinctive shop style. Her website, blog, Facebook and Pinterest pages are among fan favorites for antique goods and artistic inspiration.
Dusenberry's store and home have been featured in national magazines such as Where Women Create, Country Living, Romantic Homes, Romantic Country, Elle and Travel & Leisure as well as many local Kansas City publications.
Debbie closed her brick & mortar store in 2011 to sell online at CuriousSofa.com only. In 2012 she opened a small booth at Lone Elm Antique Mall in Olathe, KS.
Today she can be seen producing magazine editorials, photo styling, graphic design, retail consulting and traveling to antique shows with her beloved Bichon, Pearl by her side.
