Different Design

I miss my magazines! Clicking and surfing the web is just not the same as flipping through pages of people, places and good interiors. Today I tried to find some inspiration online.

From "I wish I had designed that":
Bottlecap Umbrella by Jennifer George

Clothes Hanger Lamp by Hector Serrano

Cotton Rope Area Rug by Jean Lee Clothes

Lace fence by Demakersvan

I totally agree with you!
I so miss my magazines to sit in bed and dream through. Don't get me wrong I really love blogland but there is just something about holding those glossy pages and dog earring the favorites to go back to later

I'm definitely with ya there...looked at the magazines at Walmart and the prices...$8-10.00...have I been gone from them that long that the prices have gone so sky high...guess I'll keep falling asleep at the keyboard!

I think Winter is getting to us all here in the Midwest!!!

I know what you mean. When 'Cottage Living', my most favorite magazine of all time closed it's doors, I felt like a friend died.
There just aren't that many good magazines out there anymore, and the few good ones left have more ads than content. So sad!

I terribly miss Country Home.

OH! I know. An issue I received today is looking more and more like Family Circle! HELP!

those are awesome. especially that rope rug. it's amazing. i too miss all those decor mags from the old school style of page flipping inspiration. there are still a few mags that i purchase, but after 'home companion' went away, i almost gave up hope...lol
love your blog.

I miss my magazines, too! I love to look and relook at all the pictures. I especially miss Cottage Living! They had great pictures and the magazine wasn't loaded with advertisements! I wish they would bring it back! I would be willing to pay more just to have it again.

Hear, hear! I find it a true luxury at the end of a day to put my feet up, have a glass of wine and flip the pages of a good magazine. I too noticed that this issue of CL was very Family circle/Better Homes influenced, ick! Even the paper felt like a poorer quality.

It's hard to believe that so many have gone under especially the good ones like Country Home and now with the exit of Elizabeth from Romantic Homes I'm getting really worried about the direction they are going too. Sigh.

The magazine void is huge! MEHC, Country Home, Cottage Living, Domino...
However, the void has gotten me to explore other titles. House Beautiful is pretty good.
I hope some of the good titles get reborn when this recession is over.

I don't remember how I found you website/blog but I do enjoy it. You have so many unique and beautiful items posted. You are on my "favorites" list!

Not really sure why some of the remaining home magazines are there, and my favorites are gone. I miss them all--Country Home, Home Companion, Domino, Cottage Living, Home, etc. etc. Can't they come back, pretty please!
