I think we all know the internet has changed everything. Not only is the state of retail changing because of it, but more and more people are working solo from home; designing, creating and trying to make a living doing what they love via the computer. I have been a fan of eBay for 11 years now but lately Etsy is starting to take it's place as the artisans are a plenty with any craft you can imagine.
Beginning today, I am sharing my Five from Etsy series which I will post now and then. Although I am still a huge supporter of buying local from your shop around the corner (and restaurant and hardware store and gallery) the sheer volume on Etsy is always worth a late night stroll- if only for the ideas.
Take a look around...

I live in a town that doesn't welcome small boutiques or artist so etsy is my only way of buying from unique and independent artists.
Not to mention allows me to be a stay at home mother. YAY Etsy

Thanks for this! :) - jane
Ok. You are now officially my favorite person on the internet. I'm thrilled that you are giving Etsy some love (and helping to spread the word). I was an Ebay power seller for years, but without Etsy I would never have had the chance to become an artist.
Debbie, so good to see you posting more frequently. I'm ecstatic about the etsy love, the upcoming CS online shop, and the blast-from-the-past tearsheets. My file is bursting too!
love me some etsy.

I was in Kansas City, MO. this weekend. I had been telling my friend and shopping buddy what a wonderful blog you have and that the pictures of your store were always so gorgeous, so of course we made a trip to Curious Sofa. Just loved it! We purchased several items and drooled over everything we saw! Your staff was helpful and fun too! Can't wait to return!
