Today's Great Idea
The letter craze does not seem to be stopping anytime soon, and why should it? A friend collects his initials and has various shapes, sizes and colors lined up against a kitchen wall (and it keeps growing!). I would rather sell than collect them as my initial D is not that attractive. Today on Pinterest I see this image posted and had to smile as to how clever it was. Granted, a larger than life letter but if you're a good junker, you may stumble across this in your travels. Imagine using another initial on the opposite side! Happy hunting!!

Simple Thanksgiving Ideas
Cut the cuffs off an old sweater and wrap around a glass candle. |
Fallen branches adds enough. |
Glitter covered leaves; use artificial leaves for a better result. |
Simple and effective. |
Not an orange pumpkin in sight! |
A placemat for your guests. |
Bring out the farmhouse elements. Old shutters, galvanized buckets, farm scale, milking stool. |
Another neutral vignette made dramatic with glass and pewter. |
And as always, shop CuriousSofa.com for decor and gift items.

Christmas Has Arrived
Black Glass & Foil Sign |
A month ago I dusted off my retail legs and joined the team at Good Ju Ju and did my first event driven sale since closing my own brick & mortar store. For 21 days I painted, fixed, wired, tagged, arranged and prepared my space to be the best I could manage. The night before the show (on Halloween!) I was at the space, all alone at 2 a.m., still tagging! And once home so wired I could not sleep. Friday morning, with 1-1/2 hours rest, I drug my bruised, sore and certainly tired body into the event to be welcomed by thousands (yes, thousands) of shoppers, friends, customers and family. For the next three days it was a whirlwind of activity and an eye opener of just exactly what First Friday shopping in the West Bottoms has become here in Kansas City.
First off, THANK YOU to all my loyal customers who came to see me. I have missed you and it was so lovely to catch up although I couldn't spend nearly the time with you I would have liked. Some of you couldn't even say hello (as I was carrying out a mantle!) but I saw you! And remember, there are two more chances to shop Curious Sofa Live: Next Saturday, November 16, Good Ju Ju is doing a special Project Warmth event. Shop 8:30-5. Then again, First Friday December 6, 7, & 8.

Ready, Set, Go
I have visited JuJu a dozen times in the past but mostly on Sundays and now I know this is the stupidest thing I could have done! A line forms at 8 am on Friday to fans that know what they could be missing and by noon the dock is packed with items to take home to customers. I'll never be late again! The good stuff goes fast.
Below is a sneak peek into my space with many of the Christmas items not shown. (Still tagging!) The ornaments, linens, candles and soap are not shown either. PLEASE STOP IN TO SAY HELLO and visit us and all the other shops during First Fridays, Warehouse Weekends.
