New January Products

.

January means we can see the walls of the store again! Frosty trees, mercury ornaments and fake snow have been replaced by new furniture, Valentine gifts and the beginnings of Spring.

Take a look around at where we are going for February and also mark your calendar for our first 'Love Hurts' Valentine Art Show, February 6 & 7. (More on that to come).

For Valentines Day the color starts to trickle in:

Beautiful journals.

Crystal, enamel and gold heart necklaces.

Glossy printed heart boxes.

Cards, notepads and French berry bowls.

Tiny devil rubber duckies.

Just in! French General stationery and labels inspired from antique textiles.

Oilcloth coin purses and bags.

New furniture:

Tall Rustic Wood Bookcases.

Raw Wood and Dark Charcoal Upholstered Arm Chair, Crochet Throw, Burlap Bolster.

A pair of new Chenille Bergere Chairs are in. Here shown against our newly painted wall and silhouette tree I finished Sunday night.

A trifold room divider with beveled glass and upholstery base.

A new/old wing chair with fresh ticking fabric.

A perfect size French style Loveseat with soft, burlap linen upholstery and whitewash trim.

Sticking with my neutral accessories:

White and black bangles with various sayings.

Glass lamp, vintage clock and recycled newspaper frame.

Tin containers in three sizes.

Duck cloth nautical pillows with large stenciled numbers.

Also, XL messenger bags.

My new favorite: Large match boxes with antique Asian photographs.

The first birdhouses have started to arrive.

...also new lamps, jewelry, pillows, kitchen items, books and more. Please stop in!

I wanted to write some deep and meaningful post that wasn't just a silly throw away little comment but aside from singing your praises on your choice of lovelies, all I can say is WOW!!!

I love your blog and your store looks fabulous and fun. Thanks for the pictures of you beautiful home...will we be seeing more of it? I hope so!

Jenny, YES! You are going to see more of my home. Romantic Homes magazine contacted me a few weeks ago and a shoot is planned for February 9. They say it is for the June issue but as with all publications, that could change. I'll keep you posted!

When you posted your "in/out" message, I got such a kick out of it. I have to say though, that you have a way of buying and displaying that does keep up with the times and trends yet still brings in all those elements that so many of us love and are true vintage, victorian... and no jewel tones!
Love that French General paper!

WOW!! What lovely items you have. I love the French style settee.
You have a beautiful home that looks so inviting and confortable. It is simply gorgeous.

I wish I lived closer but that is probably not wise as I would be spending every penny I have on the things in your shop!!!

I wait several weeks before revisiting your blog, this way I can spend a few rapturous hours dreaming...jotting, sketching, memorizing, savoring the wonderland that is your world. I want to live within and amongst these vignettes, inside the photographs that speak so beautifully of ceremony, tradition...of a Cinderella existence (after the whole step-mom thing of course)
You make your viewers covet your vision, your imagination and creativity - despite the very hard work I know it entails on your part.
I applaud you, no I give you a standing ovation. I'm only sorry you don't do shipping. Well, maybe that's a good thing, considering my budget.

Your store is so upbeat and truly amazing! I can't get over some of the things you do, how you display and set up your store. Do you have any heartfelt words you could pass on to other stores who are facing this difficult economic time? As you hear from many of your followers, you are truly an inspiration, especially to those who have their own stores.

After Xmas I had many ideas on surviving '09. My plans were to buy cheap and deep but that all changed when I went to the Atlanta Market. I just couldn't do it. After meeting with other established retailers, we all decided we are going to "just do what we do". I now want to kick it up a notch and buy smarter, better and more fabulous. Regardless of the economy, it was time for Curious Sofa to change a few things in our 4th year at this location. It is just a smart thing to do. Repainting, updating, fine tuning, becoming leaner and meaner. I will stay true to what put us on the map but every purchase I make is thought through diligently. There is not much experimenting going on. I want to be 99% passionate about the items I buy from now on. Now is not the time to waste money but we also need to be certain what we have is the right thing and not just filler. Customers want special and unique- always have, always will. Good luck to all of us.

These western images excite my passion for the Old West and the rugged trails! I love how you paired up Decor and Vintage Due rags... I wish all of my how was one big kerchief! They may be a bit silly, but this makes me happy! =0D

Thank you for letting me Post a Comment,
