Lovebirds Wedding Topper from tuckandbonte

This weekend is a very special one for all of us at The Sofa. Our manager, Heather Fraser is getting married to her beloved Matthew Henderson. For weeks now she has been busy getting things prepared of her own design. Dana and Abby gave her a lovely curious style shower last Sunday and this Saturday night we will toast the couple to forever bliss as they head off to Ireland for their honeymoon!

The bride and groom: Heather and Matthew

Their nuptials are what inspired me to search Etsy for what is happening in the world of original wedding accouterments (and boy, are they a-plenty!) Take a look:

Whimsical boutonniere from rule42

Now you know the boys probably hate wearing flowers so what a great alternative and easy enough to make yourself.

Flying high wedding papers @ aymujer

Oh do these old Mexican style Papel Picado banners talk to me. I already have something planned for these!

Everlasting Bouquet from paperplatypus

Talk about a money saver! Can you imagine the fun you could have with all the bridesmaids making these late into the night? Get out that stash of wrapping paper, book pages, craft paper and paper bags. Whether made to carry down the isle or used as centerpieces, the possibilities are endless.

Custom notes @ ourhobbytoyourhome

Another creative idea: sending a wedding photo as the predictable thank you note.

FYI: The store will close at 5:00 Saturday and closed Sunday, July 4th.

Cannot wait for your online shop to open! Just a quick note as an Etsy crafter, that I really appreciate your support in bringing your incredible editorial eye to Etsy. Leslie

I just saw and loved some cut paper banners in a 'real' Mexican resturant that were decorated with day of the dead symbols. Thanks for pointing me at Etsy to find something simular.

Congratulations to the happy couple. My last name is Fraser also, which is an unusual spelling that no one ever seems to get right! I love your store and hope to pick out some new bedding there for my birthday next month. Would you ever have time to do a post just on your bedding so I can get a sneak peak down here in Springfield? Happy 4th!

I think that these are some great and reallt sentimental alternatives to the same things and the same rules. Love the brides boquet, thank you card, and the buttoneers.
Great ideas......
